Brookview Elementary Principal Paul Brown is moving up. The Fulton
County School System announced today that Brown will be the new
principal of McNair Middle School. He’s scheduled to start his new
position on February 1.
Brown
has been an educator in Fulton County for nearly his entire career. The
former assistant principal and teacher at Camp Creek Middle School. Has
taught middle school math in the City of Atlanta school system and in
Coweta County prior to joining the Fulton County School System.
Brown has earned a reputation as a strong leader who uses data to help
create school improvement plans and instructional strategies that
motivate students and teachers to achieve at higher levels. During his
tenure, Brookview achieved Adequate Yearly Progress consistently and
also received Title I Distinguished School status for six consecutive
years. In 2007, Governor Sonny Perdue also named Brown a Georgia High
Performance Principal for continually raising
Brookview’s test scores and increasing students’ overall achievement.
In addition, Brookview was named a 90-90-90
School by the Georgia Department of Education under his leadership.
This distinction meant that 90% or more of Brookview’s students
were eligible for free and/or reduced meals, that 90% or more were
members of ethnic minority groups, and that 90% or more met or exceeded
the standards for state assessments.
Brown earned a bachelor’s degree in middle school education at the
University of Georgia and a master’s degree in administration and
supervision at the University of West Georgia. He currently is pursing a
doctoral degree in educational leadership from Mercer University. |
